Dear Residents,

We would like to remind everyone to take simple but important steps to help protect your vehicle and belongings from theft.

Vehicle criminals often look for easy opportunities, and taking a few precautions can significantly reduce the risk of becoming a victim.

Please remember to:

Always lock your vehicle, even if leaving it unattended for only a short time.

Remove all valuables from view, including bags, mobile phones, wallets, tools, sat navs and charging cables.

Never leave keys inside your vehicle and keep spare keys secure at home.

Ensure windows, sunroofs and doors are fully closed and locked.

Park in well-lit areas where possible.

Consider using additional security devices such as steering wheel locks, alarms or tracking systems.

If you own a keyless vehicle, store keys away from doors and windows and consider using a signal-blocking pouch.

Report any suspicious activity around vehicles to the police.

Please remain vigilant and encourage family members, friends and neighbours to do the same. By working together and taking preventative measures, we can help reduce vehicle crime in our community.

If you see anyone acting suspiciously around parked vehicles, please report it via 101, online through the police website, or call 999 if a crime is in progress.
